What an amazing day the host club, All Weather Walkers, picked for a walk! The walk started at The Pendleton Store, a wonderful shopping treat and some terrific bargains some of us, myself included, just couldn't pass up.
Jan Breneman lead us on the Columbia River Dike Trail with a loop in the middle to Cottonwood Beach and then through Captain William Clark Park. The route also went through an Art trail featuring scenic viewpoints of three lakes and the Columbia River. The water was so calm it looked like glass and the reflections were wonderful. Then we spotted them!!! Three Bald Eagles in the tops of the Cottenwoods, just sitting there watching us pass by! We all started pointing and clicking picture after picture. You just can't have enough of these majestic birds. There were others, Trumpet Swan, geese, ducks and others but the Eagles were tops! The weather was warm, no wind and this walk offers a 5/10/12 and 13 option, which many of us took advantage of. A very special, THANK YOU to JAN for a genuine nature hike that was easy
