This Wednesday walk had the "WOW" factor built in with all it has to offer. We started at the Red Lion and soon entered Ester Short Park with its monuments, historic theater building and passed where FDR spoke on 8/21/1920. From there the route takes you through uptown Vancouver and into a core residential area with wonderful architecture. You meander around Clark College campus and then on to Fort Vancouver National Historic Site with the Land Bridge and Pearson Airfield. The 10 K group, lead by Dick Baker, enjoyed many other sights including the Geese landing in the park. Put this YRE on your list of "Must Do's" it's a great walk any time of the year.
Dick's Blog:
We had 46 walkers including the shadow group, which is a great turnout for Vancouver on a rainy day without the rain, just some drizzle at the beginning.
