Today was different for us, we left the dogs at home so we had a chance to explore that wonderful downtown area of St. Helen's.  If you've never done a walk there, we highly suggest you plan a beautiful summer or fall day, do the walk, and just have fun meandering through the town.  The locals where show you where scenes of one of the Twilight films were done, but take in the shops.  Today we stopped in two gift shops and an antique stores, and Mary Ann was able to find some unique collectables for Christmas.  If we didn't have a walk there, I guarantee you it wouldn't be on my list of "things to see in Oregon," but it should be on your list.  The  waterfront boasts a quaint little park with a path filled with tiles that give you the history of when Lewis and Clark came there.  There's also a wonderful sculpture of Seaman (their dog) down at the waterfront, where today, we spotted two herons taking in the sun.  A great little town where the locals are so happy to meet you.
