Oh the weather. Driving to the start from Vancouver, I encountered snow and had thoughts of turning around. However I kept going and made it to Good Sam Hospital without having snow and ice sticking to the road. Once there a very few walkers showed up. In fact only 13 - 8 for the 10 km and 5 for the 5 km. When we took the group photo at the start - SUNSHINE and a balmy 34 degrees. Notice the shadows on the ground. The sun did not last very long as clouds came back very soon after the start but it did not start snowing again until about the 8 km mark. By the time we were finished the sun came back out.
10 km walk is a new route that goes by many of the new challenges. We made a few diversions one in particular as Ethel had never seen the echo at Pioneer Square. Turns out that no one had talked to the wall in Pioneer Plaza so all took turns. It is amazing the first time you try it.
You missed a good walk if you stayed home in the warm. Dick
