Today was our last day for the Spring Getaway walks. Our two walks had a couple of things in common, hills & beautiful scenery. The first 10K started at the Maple Grove boat launch. We were treated to some spectacular views of Utsalady Point. Then around the small beach community for a walk with a rating of 3 and it lived up to the rating. There was a large turn out which always increases the fun and makes the walks so much easier.
We then had the pleasure of eating at the Camano Lodge and we had worked up our appitites and believe me we were not dissappointed. The food was down home deliclous and we all went away satisfied. We even were able to celabrate one of our fellow Merrywalkers, Angela's, birthday. They brought out a birthday desert fit for a queen and several of us got to help Angela sample it! What a wonderful surprise. But our day wasn't finished.
Our next 10K walk was the Stanwood YRE. This walk has a small town feeling with tree lined sidewalks, huge houses with beautiful landscaped yards and views right out of Better Homes & Gardens! What a special treat and a wonderful way to end our incredible time on Camano Island.
We all owe a special thanks to the, NW Tulip Trekkers for this amazing experience. Their time, effort, planning and insight gave many of us a thrilling "Spring Getaway!
