Dick Baker 10/01/2009
By now, you must have heard, that Dick Baker had a fall in Beaverton and fell off of a curb. He ended up breaking his wrist and needed surgery. I wrote and asked him for an update and here it is: Things went good with the surgery but I was told to keep the cast dry. When I walked last Wednesday, it was sweaty inside the cast so I was told not to walk 5 or 10 kms. Very little pain unless I do something dumb. I will get the stitches out next week so then will see what they give me. I hope it is a removable cast so I can bathe etc. better. Now I shower with my cast in the air and a bag over it. Barbara helps get my left side before I get in as I can't reach it. I'm sure he would appreciate any e-mails or cards.
