Another great speaker.  Bill Middleton gave us a talk on his experience volkswalking in Europe.  You always wonder if you could actually do one on your own when you take a trip, but after listening to him, I can't wait.  Bonnie, one of our members, did walks with the Italian group on one of the volkswaking tours, but he said how easy it was just go to on the web to get the information.  All of their walks are usually very rural and beautiful paths.  They offer 5k, 10k and 20k walks, and at each end they have various wines, beers and food you can purchase.  At the end of the walks they offer various trinkets you could purchase such as different beer mugs or even a ceramic gym shoe.  Most of the walks do use walking sticks and they walk much faster than we do and are very well attended by the Europeans.  He brought his event book and his kilometer books, which are the same that we use here, but the stamps have an initial for the country in the stamp.  In celebration of the event, we had near beer, rootbeer, brats and pretzels.  Again, we  had a nice turnout, at least 15 members came for the meeting.  Check out the pictures.
