Well, in a way, this didn't turn out too bad.  Dick called and said the Visitor's Center wasn't open, but I had a copy of the 10k, 5k and 5k dog option with me, but only one copy each.  Dick took the 10k, Barb Baker took the 5k and I had the 5k dog friendly walk, and I think I really liked that.  We had to stay together, and no one got lost and I think we might have even walked a bit slower on the 10k.  I'd be curious to see how everyone else liked it.  
It was raining when we got there, but we didn't make it into the walk but about 5 minutes and the rain stopped.  Barb, one of our Snails, walked her first 5k today.  Another graduate!  Yeah! 
There were 8 of us on the 5k, but I'm not really sure how many were on the 10k, but as soon as Dick let's me know, I'll post it.
After we headed over to WOW Burgers, and although we weren't too wowed lasted time, all of us really loved it this time, especially the sweet potato tater tots.  Dick would like to go back to the good Italian restaurant next time we do the walk.  Both are great places for lunch. The Albany group raves about Biscuits, especially their jam.  So when you come to do our walk, take advantage of all of the places for lunch.
For those who were asking for a schedule for the Weekend Walks and the Wednesday Walks, just turn your eyes to the right-----> and you will see a link there to both of those sites and you can have up-to-date information at your fingertips, especially if you misplaced your Wendy's e-mail or the hard copy you might have gotten at the walk.

We had over 20 walkers today for Snails and we picked up a few new ones and old ones we hadn't seen in awhile.  We had our nice leisurely walk out there but it was just us and the geese.  After we headed to the BBC for our monthly meeting.  Notmuch going on there, but as soon as Mary is done with the minutes, I'll put them up under Meeting Minutes on the right of this page.
We did talk about our upcoming Easter Egg walk and we did decide on a couple of the big gifts.  It should be another great event.  As it gets closer will send out more information, but save the date, Saturday, March 31st.  Also save the date for this Wednesday because the walkers will be coming to Wilsonville for the new Graham Oaks Walk, where we have now offered 3 different venues.  10k and no dogs, 5k no dogs and then there is a 5k with dogs, so come and pick out the walk that will work for you!  
On another note, Ed wrote and said they had 281 walkers for the Pre-Super Bowl walk on Saturday.  Wow, that's a lot.

Hi, Jane ,after our traveling in Argentina we came to Chile-among the magnificent Andes.  We rode through national park viewing the snow caped volcano,  hiked through rain forest to see Petrohue  waterfalls. It was a breath taking experience. After we had wonderful dinner of fresh trout hosted by a local family . Today we are flying to foot of Chilean Andes, which is  considered southern most city in the world.  We are eating lot of beef and lamb in Chile we are enjoying fresh seafood. We are looking forward to next few days of visiting icebergs and glaciers. We are enjoying the company of our group Hope you are having good weather for your walks. You know the year has really begun when you head out to do the annual pre-Super Bowl Walk out of the Kennedy School.  Another sun-shine day so I'm sure they had a wonderful turnout.  We didn't take in the Valentine's Day house, but we did go over to the Alameda Brew Pub for their homemade root beer.
The beginning of the walk was ok, but when we finally made it to Freemont, then the walk really began for us.  Those homes are so beautiful .  Where else can you see a tennis court in their backyard or wonder who lives in that huge mansion (are they famous or just rich?) And everytime I go past that one house that is on a triangle, right before the road veers to the left, is that really Eleanore Powell's house? We should do that walk in the summer when more of the inhabitants are outside and we can ask all of those questions.  Great walk.  See you on Wednesday at Graham Oaks (Wilsonville Visitor's Center).

Maybe the ground hog would look better with sunglasses.

How lucky can we be.  Another day with no rain and no rain for the next few days.  It just doesn't get any better than that, does it?  
It was nice to see Winnie, and Linda and Linda today, our newest walkers.  Most of the walkers went to the High Rocks Cafe for lunch, while we headed over to Mahor's Irish Pub in Lake Oswego.  Apprently they aren't open till later in the evening, so we decided to have lunch at Ste. Honore's (which now has a different name), but we did manage to meet there.  We waited for Joanne and Carla, but we never did see them in Lake Oswego.
But this weekend we can eat right at the Kennedy School and hopefully none of us will get lost.  Since we usually walk at 10 a.m. is everyone up to meeting at that time for a group walk????  We will be there, and hopefully we will see the rest of you too!
On a side note, Dick Baker Stadium was named after the principal at that school who died of cancer.
