My apologies to the family with the 2 boys and Rocky the dog.  Unfortunately I couldn't size the photo at the top correctly and we are missing your youngest.  It was such a good picture though, so I did put it in the post.  We had 10 walkers turn out today, even with the threat of rain.  It did rain, but not very long, only about 10 minutes and it was pretty light.  It did get muggy, but the Butterfly Garden was the best I've ever seen it.  We had a great time and thanks Carolyn for having everything ready for us when we went to sign up.  If you would like to see bigger pictures, go to the Picture Tab and find the date.
See you tomorrow at the Snails!

Saturday Fountain Walk 09/05/2009

it sure did seem like fall today with the rain.  The fountains were beautiful, it was fun going through Saturday/Sunday Market, hitting the Farmer's Market and walking through the Art in the Pearl.  We started the walk at 9:30 and we didn't get home till 3 p.m.  We stopped and looked at everything and found a cute little Italian restaurant to have lunch.  With the rain we decided on homemade tomato soup with onions and beer bread with walnuts.  It was very good!
Tomorrow we will see you at REI and don't forget to go to the pictures tab to see the rest of the pictures from today.

Thursday before Labor Day so it must be the concert! 09/03/2009

Nothing like packing up your chairs, bringing a cooler with cheese, crackers, cookies and sandwhiches and heading down to the free concert at the Hawthorne Bridge.  Temperature 68, a full moon, 1812 Overture, lots of cannons, a boat with a flag blowing in the wind and ending with fireworks.  It just doesn't get any better than that... well... maybe a bottle of chilled win, then it really would have been perfect..

Oaks Bottom and Sellwood 09/03/2009

Sandra, Mary Ann and I enjoyed the Wednesday walking group down in Sellwood.  We saw some beautiful homes, an intersection that had free tea offered and a bench to sit on plus it was surrounded by artwork.  Then we walked through Oaks Bottom and the Refuge.  Carolyn tipped us off to a great place for lunch, and it was really yummy.  After we  hit New Seasons and then REI to catch the sales there.  Check out the pictures under the picture tab, but better than that, come and join us Saturday on the Fountains Walk in Portland.
